The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has taken this step to prevent the misuse of Aadhar cards and their benefits to intruders. Now from October 1, the new Aadhar registration of age groups for more than 5 years will be done only at select centers across the country.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a memorandum to all the UIDAI service providers, registrars, and related agencies in the country regarding this. DOIT Aadhar OIC Rakesh Kumar Verma says that this decision has been taken due to the fact that the Aadhaar enrollment of the adult ie age group above 18 years is more than 100 percent.
